Protest4 is an application that helps you connect with other protesters around the world and in the next street. It empowers anyone to create a protest and then invite others to join using social media. After joining you can communicate exclusively with other people who are following that protest, sharing text and publishing images on the same protest wall in real time.

Protest4 is Multi Platform available on the iPhone, Android, and Facebook.
Step 1
Before using any mobile or web app to assist you with your activism be sure to read the app's permissions. Its imperative to understand the security risks associated with organizing/being an activist in the country where you live as well as understanding the technology you are using.

Step 2
Where will you use this app? On your iPhone? Android phone? or Facebook.
Facebook: Visit www.protest4.org and login with your Faebook connect.
iPhone: download from App Store
Android: download from Android Market
Step 3
Once you've downloaded/accessed the app. Visit Settings and customize your app. You can decide if you want notifications to come via email or as push notifications, what you want your profile picture to be, change your password, etc.
Step 4
Go to the main page of the app where you'll see the different protests that are trending. You should see there the protest that you want to join. Click the image associated with that protest. Don't see your protest OR want to start a new one? Jump to Step 6.

Step 5
Once you've reached the page for the protest you want to join. You can share this protest on Facebook, invite friends to join, or take part in the conversation that is happening on that page.
Step 6
Don't see your protest listed on the homepage or want to start a new one? Click 'Not in Mamer' and then allow the app to access your location. If the app can't access your location it will ask you to input it. Next you'll see a list of refined results based on your location and you can join the appropriate protest.
Step 7
If you want to create a new protest go to the search field at the top of the main page and enter your location. When the system can't find that protest it will ask you if you want to 'Add your protest'. Click that. Next it will ask you to name your protest, list a topic, and upload an image.
Step 8
The app will then redirect you to a page for that protest where you can start a conversation or invite friends.
Step 9
Connect with people. When you are on a protest page you can connect with people by clicking on their profile picture. You can then decide to follow them OR private message them. Your private messages will then appear in a feed on the right side of your main page.
