Rodrigo Nogueira is a journalist specialized in social and digital inclusion through collaborative media. Since 2007 he has been the editor of Viva Favela, the first Internet portal in Brazil designed to meet the needs and interests of low-income communities, with ateam of “community correspondents” – Favela residents qualified to act as multimedia reporters. Viva Favela was launched in 2001 and won several national and international awards for covering stories that feature human, historical, cultural, economic, and social dimensions of those areas, with a different perspective of the mainstream media.
