The Summit

Movements.org summits strive to bring activists, technology experts and members of the private sector together in person to facilitate collaboration and learning. To date, AYM has had 88 delegates representing 25 countries participate in three conferences.

The 2009 Alliance of Youth Movements Summit

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said of the Summit, “Young people around the world are poised to lead this kind of innovative citizen empowerment – which is why the United States is supporting a summit here in Mexico of Alliance for Youth Movements – to connect up young people working to end violence throughout Latin America – whether it’s domestic violence or dating violence or lawlessness in the streets of your community, we must all take a stand against violence. And this is a new tool that will help."

The 2008 Inaugural Alliance of Youth Movements Summit

The first annual AYM summit identified and convened 21st century movements for the first time in his tory. Speakers at the Summit included actress Whoopi Goldberg, Facebook Co-Founder Dustin Moskovitz, The Obama Campaign’s New Media Team, and then-current Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs of the United States James K. Glassman.
